Dual Enrollment
New Dual Enrollment Program can save College-Ready High-Schoolers Time and Money
The Center for Distance and Independent Study is pleased to announce their new Dual Enrollment program. Dual enrollment allows qualified high school students to enroll in university-level courses offered through CDIS while paying only 50 percent of the normal University of Missouri tuition.
What are the benefits?
- Students have an opportunity to get a jump start on earning college credit while simultaneously earning high school credit.
- College credit is awarded by the University of Missouri. High school credit is awarded by the student's participating high school.
- Courses developed by University of Missouri faculty in areas such as literature, languages, math, science and social sciences ensure a quality learning experience.
Who Qualifies?
High school students who:- have a B+ average, as certified by their high schools, at the time of enrollment;
- have completed 12 or more units of high school level credits;
- are in the upper 25% of their class;
- have achieved an ACT score of 24 or better (or equivalent SAT score);
- have been approved by their high school counselor or principal as being academically prepared for rigorous college-level course work.
- English: Four units, one of which may be in speech or debate; two units emphasizing composition or writing skills
- Mathematics: Four units, algebra 1 or higher
- Science: Three units (not including general science), one of which must be a lab
- Social Studies: Three units
- Foreign Language: Two units of the same language
- Fine Arts: One unit
Note: Students may only enroll in a maximum of four dual enrollment courses.

All other applicable fees remain the same.
Dual Enrollment students cannot receive discounted tuition through our online enrollment system.
