8087 Seminar in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology (Suicide Prevention for Educational Professionals)

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for young people in this country. Schools have a number of important roles in the prevention of suicide in students, including providing universal prevention programs and referring students at risk for suicide to mental health professionals. The purpose of this course is to better equip educational professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to be effective in these roles.
