MU Fire and Rescue Training Institute

Institute courses assist individuals in qualifying for state certification and periodic recertification at various professional levels, including firefighter, fire officer, fire inspector, fire investigator and fire instructor, as well as other technical specialties.

Our noncredit curriculum includes courses that students can use to upgrade professional skills, prepare for new careers, and/or demonstrate efforts toward personal development.

Anyone can apply for enrollment in an independent study continuing education course by submitting an application form along with the course fee. Those enrolled in a continuing education course can receive one CEU for the equivalent of each 10 contact hours of study.
